Description: Learn to knit a simple hat using a free pattern from Tin Can Knits. Knitters will begin by learning a new cast-on that is stretchy to ensure a good fit. Later in the class students will discuss how to knit in the round using circular needles in order to make a fun hat that will be cherished for years. Join us to broaden your knitting knowledge and to create a lovely hat that can be made for the entire family! 
 
Materials:  
 
Fit: 
finished hat to fit Newborn (Baby, Toddler, Child, Adult S, M, L)
Fits head approximately 14 (16, 17.5, 19, 21, 22.5, 23.5)” around
 
Yarn:
60 (70, 80, 90, 110, 150, 170) yards worsted / aran weight yarn
 
Needles:
US #6 / 4mm
US #8 / 5mm
(or as required to meet gauge)
Newborn & Baby sizes: you will need either DPNs or a long circular for magic loop technique in each size.
Toddler to Adult L: you will need a 16” circular and either DPNs or a long circular for magic loop technique in each size.

Recommended tools: darning needle, measuring tape, scissors, stitch markers and desired materials for note taking.
