Description: This cowl from the designer Melanie Berg was first featured in the publication Making No. 2 / Fauna. The pattern has some interesting aspects that are a great next step for the adventurous Advanced Beginner; it is also an enjoyable project for the Intermediate Knitter. In this class you will learn how to do the provisional crochet cast on, backwards loop cast on, and three needle bind off. The pattern instructions are easy to follow, provided in both written and in chart form.

Materials: Open Waters Cowl Pattern: available for purchase at https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/open-waters-cowl. Yarn: Aran weight 430 yards. Needles: Knitting Needles 2 sets of US 7 - 4.5mm, Crochet Hook: size I-9 - 5.5mm. Knitting notions & tools: such as scissors, stitch markers, measuring tape, darning needle, notebook and pen.
